Numerous training sessions and after 2 football seasons they are still going strong with no cracks and broken strings. They are a little stiff and my son has a hard time putting them on but he loves that they support his foot on uneven surfaces. This pair is his favorite. The flap covers the laces to keep the boots from accidentally snagging or tripping, but it does make them a bit more difficult to tie. We ordered a size up so we can wear 2 pairs of socks (one under the shin guards with ankle protection and a pair of socks over the pads).
