You can use better screws.

I am renovating a house that is over 113 years old. These latches look very nice on the linen closet doors and have an antique look. They are made from heavy gauge brass and not stamped sheet metal like most you see at the hardware store. The only drawback are the screws that come with it. Although they come with both Phillips and straight heads, the screws are a very soft metal. Phillips screws require a small screwdriver, similar to a pen or eyeglass screwdriver. Anything else will rip off the head of the screw and make it look like a mess. Even with straight-head screws, you must be careful not to press too hard on the screw head to round off the slot. It's best to make sure you pre-drill the screws, use the right screwdriver, and be patient with the installation.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything
