I got this because my basement is full of spiders and a few days after it was plugged in I went into the bathroom and had a spider on it. I taped it off so it doesn't turn off (that outlet can be finicky) but I don't cover the part that makes the sound so it doesn't interfere with the way the product works. Spiders don't care about these things. Update: I literally found a spider hanging from a cord a few inches from the front of the unit I have elsewhere in the basement. Does that thing attract spiders or what? These things are a complete scam. To return!
