My sons have tried almost every brand of shoe. ASICS offers by far the best value for money. The top is strong and durable. The velcro closure (although the surface area is fairly small and the flap goes straight through rather than going through a hole) has never let me down. The most important thing, however, is the grip on the underside. The grooves are deep, which makes them durable. I noticed that the UA Saucony and especially the Sketcher (terrible kids' shoes, grip lasted 2 months) have very shallow grooves in the sole. I learned the importance of support when my son slipped and broke a tooth. For the price they are a bit more expensive but for 10β¬ more I'd rather buy 10/10 shoes than save 10β¬ and get 6-7/10 shoes.
