I have had an overall positive experience with all Revain Basics products and this was no different. several times before use it seemed to get rid of the smell. I would say it works almost as well as real suede, apart from a stickier and stickier feel. When trying to dry my car, I noticed that it didn't move smoothly around the car for a while.
