This is a beautiful dress. I'm 61 years old, 5'3" and 196 lbs. I usually wear a 14, didn't listen to reviews, ordered a 16 because I know how dresses fit. But it fits perfectly, the center part of the pouf is a bit visible You still have 8 months to lose 10 pounds and the shaper will be fine, however I recommend that if you are 14 you order 16 (unless you are a very fit and lean 14 year old); The dress is absolutely amazing and worth every penny I paid for it. You won't be disappointed
