A welcome addition to our country kitchen. These are useful because they allow us to store a few commonly used ingredients for cooking. That way you don't have to deal with ugly or small dispensers for things like sugar. And you also don't have to fumble with bigger bags. Fits whatever you need, and the seal is good and firm. We love the look, as well as the function. Doesn't hurt that we get the occasional compliment on how handsome the storage jars are. Is there a negative about them? Well, not really, but.The clamping down seal on these is TIGHT. Which is great for me, it lets me know that the jars are sealed to perfection. But I already know that Granny, with her arthritis, would have trouble opening and closing these. So I'd say be a little mindful of that if you're thinking about gifting someone that's a senior citizen, or otherwise has problems with their hands. Once in a blue moon, the metal can pop out on one of the lids, but it's a quick easy fix. My overall thought is that they're great.
