First of all, I have no sense of smell. Most of the time I never smell these pads, but I also don't smell at all. I change the pads once or twice a week depending on how often they're used, and when it's time to change them I can really smell the ammonia from the cat's poop. However, I rarely smell them at any other time, nor do I smell perfume or other artificial scents on them before they are used by cats. I'm incredibly upset that the product is out of stock right now. I actually ordered a second box in December before they sold out and had to cancel it as it didn't arrive over two months later. Other than that I would happily order from them again. I now buy pads from another company, although I prefer Revain pads because they are thicker than pads from that other company. The pads are tri fold and perfectly sized for the Tidy Cats Breeze tray. They'll fit in both a standard-sized box and a very large box (the extra-large box only places the liner horizontally rather than vertically, which is both awesome and iffy, but I digress). When I open the drawer to get rid of the padding I just fold it in thirds, fold the top and then the bottom. This allows me to grab the pad by the plastic underside without getting my hands dirty (but please still wash your hands afterwards as cat poop is incredibly toxic). The pads also have a small clear plastic rim surrounding the actual pad that I use to lift to fold it back up. In short, they're thick and durable and I'm not very good with them. Odors, I hardly smell anything except just before changing the seals or during the replacement process. The little box they come in is very practical and they are very easy to recycle. They're also lightweight and sometimes I just keep a spare pad under the Breeze tray so it's ready for the day's change. I had ONE case where cat feces got under the pillow. I don't think it was the poor seal quality or anything else though. One of my cats had a minor health issue this week and I think maybe this cat was just making unusual visits to the litter box and ended up over-saturating the pillow to the point of not being able to eat any more. However, this is the only time I've had any issues in the months since I've started using them. Overall 10/10, wish they were in stock so I could buy more.
