ECOGARD Fuel Filter xf33144

I'm trying to evangelize maintenance and I have an old Fram fuel filter on a 2001 GMC Sierra that I selectively changed when I upgraded the fuel pump . 8 years ago at 63000 now at 97000km I still have the same fuel filter there, too bad the truck is still mostly in the garage anyway, also the reason why the fuel pumps fail is because these fuel filters rust inside which is why you are no longer used after 2004, the electrical connector on the fuel pump in the fuel tank where it connects to the fuel pump is also rusting. You may not need a new fuel pump, the new formula gas is very corrosive, so the fuel lines on new cars are plastic. I've seen stock fuel pumps run 220,000 miles.

Pros
  • Fuel Filter
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
