Having purchased 4 bottles of this product (and only 4 bottles of 2 other types) I can confidently say that it works as a basic cleanser and will not dry out your skin. Due to the exfoliating particles, it penetrates a little more than the other 2 activated carbon washes (white and black). It's not as strong as a face mask and definitely scratched my cheeks a few times. But if you're gentle, you should be fine. I'd rather scrape every once in a while than little plastic balls that don't peel the skin. PS I have SUPER DUPER sensitive skin and this is 1 of 2 cleansers I use on my face. It works even for the most sensitive skin.
