Review on Park Tool Lockring Shimano Chainrings by Muleme Bollinger

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well as intended but small issue

Perfect for removing Shimano Direct Mount chainrings but I wish there was more surface area where you insert the wrench. When using a parking key, only about half of the key engages the tool. So if you try to open a really stubborn lock ring, the wrench will easily slip off the tool. This resulted in the LRT-4's aluminum edges being measured and scraped off the key. I ended up buying the Shimano version of this tool because the wrench part is wider and more secure, so I use that to remove the chain (if it's stubborn) and then use this version of the park tool to slack it off a torque wrench and a park to reinstall TWB-36 crowfoot.

Pros
  • Sturdy surface
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
