Works very little. Order 4 inches above your waist measurement.
Order 4 inches larger than your jeans/pants size. I comfortably wear a 34" waist size like a Levi's 550 so I ordered the belt size 36 as recommended but I have to buckle it on the penultimate hole and it's still a little tight.
