Review on πŸ‘’ Stylish and Durable: Smoky Mountain Toddler Boys Hopalong Western Boys' Shoes via Boots by Tom Beland

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Is R slightly narrower than D?

I couldn't find a 9D to order so I ordered a 9R - I had never heard of 'R' before. This is the 4th pair of Hopalong boots I have purchased and all previous sizes were marked with a 'D'. From what I could find online, both "D" and "R" are normal widths. I couldn't find anything about the "D" or "R" sizes directly on Smoky Mountain, which only added to my confusion. I've placed them next to my 8Ds that I have and the R seems a little narrow in the toe box in comparison. . My toddler says they are comfortable but because the toe is hard I can't really feel where his fat little foot is and I have doubts about the sizing. After thinking about what to do all week, I finally decided to return the size R as I ended up finding a custom made 9D. Boots. They are super cute and durable. The zip is a great feature on the smaller sizes when kids need help putting their boots on. I have noticed that as my child gets older we stop using the zip feature but I keep ordering this style of boot as I love it so much.
