This mattress arrived well packaged and was immediately stretched to normal size within minutes of opening and unfolding. It smelled faintly of "memory foam" but it wasn't bad and we slept on it that night after only 6 or 7 hours. The smell seemed to dissipate completely by morning. We didn't seem to get hot overnight, but we've never had this problem either. So in that regard it's at least as good as the memory foam mattress topper we've always slept on. This is a good quality mattress and I don't want my 3 star rating to be a 'bad' rating but when it comes to our comfort it's too harsh for us. Some will drown you, but my wife and I were more comfortable on our regular 2 inch memory foam mattress and woke up a little stiff. If you like firm mattresses, you'll probably love these - but for us, we're putting the 2-inch pad back on. making it virtually impossible to order a foam mattress in the first place. Otherwise everything else about it was good. If it were a little softer I would give it 5 stars. It comes in good packaging, we were able to sleep on it that same night, the smell was minimal, the case seems to be of good quality, it's a real queen. Everything is in place, just tighter than we expected.
