Our narrow window sills don't have much room for our cat who, like all cats, loves to sit by the window and watch nature. This perch makes the house cat believe that it is an outdoor cat. It's attractive, wide, stable and easily accessible. The size of 12" x 23.5" allows the cat to sit, stand, turn and recline comfortably. For active cats, place a piece of clear acrylic on the grille of an open window to prevent the cat from pushing out the grille and falling off. Assembly was quick and easy with clear drawings and instructions in good English. In minutes it was securely installed on the windowsill. For cats weighing less than 20 pounds, no tools are required to install. For pets up to 35 pounds, two screws and anchors are included for attaching to windowsill (requires a drill and ¼-inch drill bit). The perch consists of a foldable MDF board, a cushion, two metal supports with hand-tight screws for fastening to the windowsill. board and industrial strength Velcro to attach the board to the window sill and the cushion to the board. It doesn't collapse or flinch when Fluffy jumps on or off. Lightweight, board and cushion fold into a compact rectangle for storage. The metal bars have rubber bumpers where they touch the wall for extra stability and wall protection. A gray fabric that catches and holds the fur, releasing it with a wave of a damp cloth or vacuum nozzle. An old and arthritic cat enjoys the comfort of a pillow and would rather lie down than try to cling to a slippery and narrow windowsill. She easily jumps onto the device and controls takeoffs and landings by clinging to the pad with her claws. Cats are often shy about new things, so for the first few times take Fluffy and place her on the roost and encourage petting until she gets used to the new environment. the feeling of this new wonderful place to spend their days. Or sprinkle some catnip and treat her to something on the perch to make her feel right at home. The only drawback was the packaging. It was packaged well, but the styrofoam-like packaging material crumbled easily during shipping and required a quick vacuum to remove stains from all surfaces. If the manufacturer used a more careful packaging material, picky customers like me would like it. I give this device 5 stars out of 5, as does the cat.
