I bought this set of knives because I had more than 6 sharp knives (chef, santoku, paring knife, etc.) just sitting in my kitchen drawer. In addition to knives, there are also thermometers, tongs, spatulas - everything! It got to the point where I had so many knives that I had to be very careful pulling anything out of the drawer for fear of cutting myself. This device solved those problems! Let me also mention how much more hygienic it is compared to the countertop knife block (which you drop your knives into while pointing down). The Bellemain flat knife block is much more hygienic. Those huge, ugly things sitting on your countertop can't be cleaned from the inside and won't let your knives breathe. If you still have nasty residue on your knives after cleaning, a regular countertop knife block will simply trap any germs/bacteria that were on your knife. This stacking knife block also solves these problems! It fits perfectly in my drawer and keeps all my knives safe and clean. I'll probably buy another one for steak knives and the like. I highly recommend this knife block!
