Review on πŸ”¨ Ryobi P222 Rotary Hammer Power Tool by Steve French

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great option for the "home player "

So it's not a professional tool, but *IS* a real rock drill. Drilling 3/8" in hard, high aggregate concrete takes half as long as my Milwaukee M18 brushless hammer drill. Milwaukee is a GREAT drill/driver, lots of torque and the brushless motor is really efficient. , which means longer battery life. But while the Hammer setup drills the holes I need, the Ryobi definitely does a better job. A hole punch designed to use SDS(Plus) bits and punch holes in solids is clear. I wish the battery life was longer (I use 3.5Ah "base black" lithium batteries, and with my 3/8" it's a bit (I only get about 25 holes on one charge), but I have to won't drill big holes in concrete, and I don't have to worry about extensions. The hammer-only chisel mode is also a nice and unexpected feature at this price point A reliable little tool when you need to drill a few holes in masonry and don't If you're looking to spend a lot of money, a reputable SDS hammer drill (even a corded one!) is the way to go. And as long as I've only used it for testing to make sure it works, I'm sure the "Hammer Only." " mode is great for removing tiles or even light demolition.

Pros
  • Demolition Drills & Hammers
Cons
  • Expensive
