Small toys, phones, and dirt invariably found their way into the cracks of the non-removable seat cushions (which are soft, not hard, and compact enough for my little boy's foot to fit through the cracks) and between the seats and backrest of the sofa, so I covered the seats with quilts or thin blankets. However, they have to be rearranged several times a day and I still find toys slipping through the gap in the back. I wanted something that would prevent things from sliding into gaps and it works well. XL fits my large 3 seater sofa with recliners on either end, although I would undo the bottom edge of the cover on the side I want to recline. It's soft and stretchy, and yes, the parts that were meant to pull it up popped out at times, especially when a rebellious kid jumped up and down on it at times, or when I'm using a chair, but it's easier and easier to do it to put on again. it lasts longer than if i used duvets. It also keeps things from falling into crevices, looks good and is easy to clean, so I'm very happy with it. I bought pool tubing to cut to a smaller size to use as rim inserts, but since we have deeper seats and the lid doesn't come off easily I haven't tried pool tubing yet. We've only had cover for a week, no pets, so far it's holding up well. I have a dark brown sofa so I bought a chocolate color. It's the cheapest I've found at Revain and the jacquard adds texture and design. I ordered another color alternating with chocolate brown.
