Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great if it works, but don't throw it away just yet

Real life saver, increased range I can drive without filling up at a gas station when towing my caravan. But once stranded me thinking I'd accidentally left it on and burned out the motor or drained the batteries. he didn't turn on. What actually happened was that it had bad battery contact and a slight bend in the battery cover and the motor case started it again. I found out about it later, so I'm stuck in the middle of the desert looking for innovative ways to fill my tank with gas. Lesson learned - although very handy, always carry an extra hand siphon or, I have a swing siphon, they work pretty well too. Spout cylinders are still too heavy, too many leaks and too many problems. I only gave it three stars, but when it works, which it mostly did, it deserves five stars. UPDATE: 8/29/16 Now I think that's crap. Lasted only a year and could be used a total of 10 times and got worse and worse each time. It works like a flashlight for $0.99. Works great the first time, but the battery terminals lose contact after a while. I'm sure an electrician or someone else could come in and fix this crap for $0.99 but the best I can guess is the batteries were disconnected, that could be a nice little toy to play around with Later I suggest going back to an old fashioned hand pump with a siphon bulb. My new rating is one star and be careful with the buyer
