The heatsink I received is properly attached and touches both chips with only one layer of thermally conductive foam. (It was included in addition, be sure to remove the insulating plastic). I'm deducting a star because the included screws are only long enough to attach the heatsink to the CM4 module and not long enough to go through the CM4 base I/O carrier. So if you want the CM4 board to be more securely attached to the CM4 IO, you will need longer screws. Maybe it doesn't matter much since the CM4's mechanical connections are pretty tight. However, I would have liked the additional security of the screws. Please note I bought this with a "Frequently Bought Together" case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08TX3QXWH/ - but this case fan and heat sink do not both fit in the case . I still kept the heatsink because I prefer it to any fan noise.
