My 10 year old son was happy to see, get and wear these things. I love that the Y-Black pair don't have easily soiled white soles as they prostrate themselves in mud and grass for no good reason. He doesn't know yet and has no plans to buy branded shoes, so there was nothing wrong with that, and the price suited me ($28) considering the above crap. They have an understated modern/stylish look that goes with many outfits.
