Review on Phanteks PH-EC416PTG_BW Eclipse P400 Steel ATX Mid Tower Case Black/White by Devin Tanner

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best I've ever used.

I'm sure there are better ones, but for the money this case is RUGGED. It doesn't bend at all. The metal is thick. It has dust filters where it matters most. I've only had to dust it once since I assembled it a year ago (also depends on your environment) and there wasn't even that much dust inside. Filters really work. I would say I have a snag that depending on your copy (I've built two computers in this case model) the glass may not sit perfectly flush and when removing the thumbscrews holding the glass sometimes the lugs either on the propeller or sticking to the case. Nothing affecting performance. ALSO the USB 3.0 ports on the front are very snug. The included magnetic LED strip is very welcome as you can change its color to match your color scheme by pressing a hidden button on the front of the case. The case stays relatively cool and can handle most forms of cooling. I am currently using a stock Wraith Spire LED cooler, but you can fit a Hyper 212 size cooler in it. Plenty of room for the GPU too. I don't use 2070 super and have no space issues. Cable management is EXCELLENT. If you love cable management or are learning about cable management, this case is for you. It even has built-in velcro straps on the back so you can route most cables through the center back of the case with 2 SSD bays on the back of the MOBO mounting plate. All in all, this is a great case. This case should be the standard for case design in this price range. If you're having trouble picking a case, give this case serious consideration as it's pretty sure it'll work well for most builds.

Pros
  • Fully equipped with magnetic dust filters. Innovative modular hard drive system (requires PH-HDDKT_02). Includes 2 Drop-N-Lock SSD mounts. Long GPU (supports up to 15.2")
Cons
  • Expensive
