I had high hopes for them and understand why they are not suitable for front loading machines but the same goes for HE top loading machines like my Maytag Bravos XL. HE machines just don't fill up like the old machines and therefore these catchers can't float and catch dirt. Of the many batches of different sizes and items I made, only a small piece of grass fell into one of the traps. More got caught in the lint from the washing machine hose, so I know our laundry room is full of "things". Four of us have long hair, we also have a dog and two cats. Not catching a lot of things was a bummer. Unfortunately I'm sending them back because I just don't see a reason to keep them. The quality is ok, but they just don't work as expected for our top loader.
