Some scissors take longer to cut than others. It just depends on the condition of the scissors. I've sharpened all kinds of scissors with it, everything works fine. With other sharpeners I had trouble getting the angle of the cutting edge of the scissors right. This simple little gadget makes it easy. Kyocera ceramic (I have a couple of their kitchen knives too) is much harder than metal and sharpens well. I like the small size, it will be easy to store. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to using it for a long time.
