Since the edges of the Pixel 3a XL display are slightly beveled, the screen protector must be applied perfectly. Turn on the screen while centering the protective film so you can see where the edges of the display are under the glass. I recommend following the instructions and using the kit that comes with it (stickers, etc.). However, for extra stability, take masking tape and reinforce the hinge you are building with the stickers provided. I found it difficult to just use the stickers as instructed as they started peeling off when I rotated the screen back into place.
