I grew up in Japan and half my family still lives there. Everyone had chairs like that, we had four in our family. I'm in the US now. After twisting my back and having to sit on the floor more often (also because I have a toddler and a seven-month-old), I needed a chair on the floor to support my back. I remembered them from my childhood and ordered them straight away. I've had it for a few days and I LOVE it. I always lie on the floor and use it to feed my baby, play with him, read and watch TV. I love lying in it, it reminds me of my childhood stumbling around in it. I had no "factory smell" out of the box. Excellent packaging.
