Review on πŸ›οΈ Ultra-Comfortable Therm-a-Rest Mesh Cot: The Perfect Bed for Outdoors by Jeff Strutz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great crib, maybe a bit too heavy/bulky for long trips but definitely comfortable

I finally got to test this crib in the wild this weekend and it worked really well. The assembly and disassembly is time consuming because if you have an XL model like I have, more crossbars need to be inserted. Also, make sure this item fits in your tent with a spare bed. I just took measurements when I reordered both my tent and this cot - the cot barely fits in the tent and I would be really upset if it didn't fit. t. I'm 6ft 4" and 235 pounds and this crib supports me very well and it's easy to get in and out of. I'd like a little more ground clearance, but based on the way it's assembled I don't think that's possible. You will probably need a pannier bag for this crib, the bin that comes with it is very bulky and didn't seem to pack well for me. I put the mesh component in the sleeping bag compartment, the poles in another pocket on the outside of the tent and the plastic legs tied together in the other compartment. Feet are just a pain when trying to grab them, so I'll try to keep looking for the best way to do this. This is offset by the fact that the XL version of this cot is the largest you can buy. A friend of mine had an ALPS climbing bed on a camping trip and it looked good too - it's a little heavier but seems to pack less, has higher ground clearance, it doesn't have those pesky plastic feet but it's smaller. The fact that I can stretch on my stomach, back, or side with this crib still gives me an edge, but do your research!
