Review on ๐ŸŒญ Airhead Hot Dog: Ultimate Towable Tube for Boating, Ideal for 1-5 Riders by Alvaro Delic

Disappointing ride

Our teenage daughter helped me choose when I was looking for an inner tube that would be difficult to ride and subject to frequent falls. She watched the video and thought it would be fun. Unfortunately, I think a design flaw is really limiting it. The tow point is too low and well below center. Why does it matter? This means the towline is always dragging through the water, making it difficult for the boat to move the tube from side to side and almost impossible to get the tube out of the wake where it is really difficult to drive is. Yes, we could use one of those inflatable rope supports, or do something that's really NOT recommended, like... B. to pull a pipe from a clock tower. But we never needed any of these options for any of the 5 previous tubes, all of which could easily go off track. Another disappointment is the 3 fill points (middle and 2 sides), only the middle. is a quick exhaust valve. The two sides fill up slowly and with effort (you have to squeeze them together or tilt the pump nozzle like filling a cheap pool float). Can good valves really hurt at all three points? Another downside: Older teenagers were very uncomfortable to drive. Your hips just aren't flexible for such a fit. And while the package lists a max weight of 510 pounds, 2 teenage riders totaling just over 300 pounds really wanted to buckle up and slow down that tube. This is probably the best camera for small kids and slow light travel. While the manufacturer's video makes it a little more exciting, I now look back at their video of them hauling off a derrick, which is a real no go for most boaters.
