These night goggles take some getting used to - I've never worn yellow lenses before and I have to say I love them! As the sun went down and I put them on I was just amazed at how much more I could see when they were in place rather than taking them off my face. Without them I could only see the blue spectrum, but with them I could see the green-red-yellow spectrum and it seemed to me that the details of the environment were floating in front of me. I know a lot about how the eye/brain takes in light and converts it into a brain image, but I have a few observations. First, without glasses, the eye seems to emphasize the blue and ignore everything else. Everything else comes with them and they take care of it. It was really confusing at first because I was always waiting for my brain to adjust and stop seeing everything yellow and I never did - they were too obviously yellow as opposed to the slightly brown shades you buy , when you quickly tune in and stop being aware of it. shifts. Second, and more importantly, I rode a long time before I got stuck in traffic, and when I got into town, first with other bikes and then with car headlights, the first thing that caught my eye was the one with bike LEDs and Car headlights - particularly the LEDs which have given me such seizures for the past few years (I'm 64 and had cataract surgery last summer which helped but didn't completely eliminate the glare). These goggles took out the worst of the glare. The glare appears to be almost entirely in the blue spectrum, while what can still be seen on the headlights is in the yellow-red-greenish spectrum. The horrible bike path corridor I take a mile to meet rush hour traffic on my way home (Truxtun East Extension in Bakersfield) was bearable for the first time. I've had wrapping frames before, but never with such beautiful prints - just frames that hug the face. This seal blocks almost all airflow and my eyes avoid the dryness that has plagued me while riding in the past. The dry air in Bakersfield is notorious and damn it was a welcome change! I want a polarized version of these glasses as soon as I can swing them! About Bifocals: When I had my cataract surgery I opted for 20/20 distance vision, so I very much welcome bifocals with glasses. Because of this, I no longer have to dig through my saddlebag to find reading glasses to unlock the combo lock to secure my trike at the pit stop, and I don't have to tell you how much of an improvement this is. ! Bright enough during the day to read numbers without bifocals, but I really need them at night. Finally, the frame also feels comfortable over my Under Armor beanie (see my review). You need a good, flexible frame so you can wear it over a hat, especially over a hat but under a sweatshirt, and for glasses to be secure.
