You're decent, I bought a new filter for my 40 gallon goldfish tank because I previously had an internal filter that didn't handle the amount of waste my five 3 inch goldfish were producing Taking it out and cleaning it is really painful and I had to do this at least every two weeks. I'm not a huge fan of disposable filters, but I've found that I can rinse and reuse them, so I'm thrilled at how they seem to need to be changed weekly. When I take them out, they're filled with a ton of slimy dirt, so soak I put them in a bucket and then clean the filters with my hands and fingers that I don't clean. really mind as I'm a mom and have dealt with way grosser stuff than goldfish poop. Then I use coarse water from a bucket to water my plants :) They are very valuable if you reuse them I've only spotted 2 out of 10 in two or three months. I had them because I only wash them very well and reuse them. like new compared to the washed one which I will reuse. I think the two I have lying around should last a few more months before I have to throw them away, but I'm going to take them apart and recycle the plastic part because I hate single-use plastic that ends up in landfill forever. They would probably work better and last even longer if your fish wasn't a huge dirty 3 inch fatty fish like mine.
