I never had the opportunity to review a product for the first time, so I jumped at the chance! First I have my 2016. A 13 inch MacBook Pro is on a stand right now. I got it two days ago and have been using it constantly since I put it on my desk. The stand ships disassembled in a box and weighs 33 lbs. The box they sent me is marked "Bratek". Assembly was easy. Took me about 5 minutes. The box includes well-documented assembly instructions and a small Allen key for tightening the screws. There were 6 countersunk screws and a rounded top screw that goes into the foremost hole on the top of the stand. The stand holds the laptop in place with a rubber grip that you attach to the top of the "A" shaped medal after installing the screws. Be careful when releasing the casserole from the adhesive as the adhesive strip tried to completely separate the rubber. The item is very strong and durable. My 13" MBP sticks out about 1" on either side of the bottom of the "A". A measures 10.5 inches long and 11 inches wide at its widest point. The base is 8" long and 7 1/4" wide at its widest point. The top of the stand is only tilted 5 degrees from back to front. It's enough to see the touchpad display with the laptop open when the top of the laptop is roughly at eye level, but at the same time the laptop is held with enough friction to prevent slipping. The steel post contains a spring to extend the steel post. With my MacBook on the stand, the base of the computer is about 4 inches tall when the stand is fully folded and 5 1/2 inches when fully extended. There is a set screw that tightens on the steel post to hold the post at the desired height. This must be tightened very firmly to create enough friction to keep the pin from moving. The retaining screw could probably be improved by enlarging the screw head to provide better torque, or adding a rubber tip to the screw to increase friction against the pin. Although this screw had to be tightened vigorously, the tripod screw could be overcome by pulling on the tripod. With a little handling the stand will slowly grow to its maximum height, it looks like it will stay in place if you don't make it. As it turns out, full extension works best, so the adjustable feature isn't as useful as I thought. Because of this difficulty in keeping the stand at a lower height, I gave it 4 stars. The color goes well with the "Space Grey" of my MBP and complements the other metal parts of my desk. It's not as light as the brushed aluminum "silver" MacBook. Overall it looks and feels solid.
