I had an old camelback chute with a loose drinking lid. It worked well for a couple of years under heavy use, but the lid latch design was weak and eventually broke. I wanted to buy a new cap but the prices were the same as a brand new bottle. I decided I would try this new one and I'm glad I did. The magnetic component is an unnecessary but nice feature to keep the lid open while drinking. This is much better than the old friction locking system. Additionally, the upgraded plastic lid retainer feels more durable than the previous model. Time will tell, but so far I'm happy.
