Pretty good boots but they loosen a lot when broken

I bought my first dirt bike in late May and fell in love with it. My first serious accident happened in the second week of June and I was wearing regular Red Wing work boots. I sprained my ankle very badly, for a week I had a swelling that looked like half an orange sticking out of my leg. Thankfully, most of what was broken has now healed. After this experience, I decided that off-road cycling boots are definitely okay. My main riding buddy swears by the cheap O'Neal boots, which cost about the same, and he loaned me an old worn pair while I ordered my own. . I liked them but wanted something that would match my bike so I went with the Fly Mavericks. I got lucky with a couple of Fly helmets (colors fade but they're comfortable and secure) and pulled the trigger. The boots arrived in perfect condition with all tags and everything. The red color matches the Honda Red on the 2019 CRF250L perfectly. I wore them around the house for a bit that evening to break them in and they were nice and sturdy but still comfortable. I wear thick boot socks (Thorlo Combat Boot Socks, they're almost as thick as wool socks) and haven't had any issues with blisters or pain. I have been traveling to work with them almost every day for the past 2 months. My typical route is 5-6 miles through the woods on some pretty rough trails; dirt pits of off-road vehicles, huge exposed tree roots, trees falling daily, rain gutters, creek crossings and even some pretty steep climbs. The total mileage is about 600. The boots keep a good cosmetic appearance. Didn't have to scrub them hard or anything until driving through deep puddles from all that SxS traffic at the end of my journey home, they wash out pretty well. This has a downside. The boots are not waterproof at all. I think they actually absorb moisture and leave it right on your feet. Every day around 7:30 am I drive through a field with tall weeds. This causes my feet to get damp simply from dew dripping off the weeds as I drive by. These boots are 5 stars for comfort. They really do feel great. I've moved my derailleur up 2 notches and I have no problem shifting until I get tired and lazy. My knee pads/shin pads (cheaply priced here at Revain) go under my pants and fit perfectly on the top of the boot, fully protecting the front of my leg. I didn't have any shin bruises even after riding through fallen trees and getting hit all the way. In terms of durability. I have a feeling these boots might let me down. After 600 miles in the dirt about 50/50 compared to the road, the boots really are fully broken in. I can bend the top of my boot and touch my toes. I was hoping they would stay stiff for at least a couple of years before they flexed that much. They still feel protective, but not as armored as they were when they first appeared. I like a very small heel on my boot, that's good for me. Buckles seem secure and the velcro on the top is strong. Overall I would recommend these boots. They look good, are comfortable and offer a lot more protection than regular shoes/boots. After 600 miles in the dirt about 50/50 compared to the road, the boots really are completely broken in.
