Bottom line up front, I would not buy these screws again. I bought them to replace handles on some antique wooden cabinets I have, pull out drawers. I pre-drilled the holes first with a smaller bit as I tend to do, and then moving to one almost the size of the screw barrel. Even with that, screwing the screws in, they often slipped and the head started tearing up. I figured I would just sink them in and worry about getting them out if it ever came to that. The second one hit the bottom of the screw hole and the head immediately sheared off, leaving the body embedded in the wood.These are not hardened steel and do not hold up to any manipulation.
