In my opinion, rugs should complement the decor, not BE, and I find these muted colors work great. We purchased a fully furnished cabin with a burgundy leather sofa, ottoman, and large armchair that dominates the small space. The furniture is in excellent condition and I can't justify replacing it but wanted to soften it and brighten the room. These mats are home runs. But we don't walk on it, we sit on it. They cover the pillows. The room got much lighter. The pillows are now protected from our dog sneaking up to sleep and I personally don't like sitting on the skin. I find it cold and kind of sticky. These rugs are soft enough to sit on and easy enough to wash. I dry them so it doesn't shrink.
