Proper "quiet " microphone
I'm amazed at the low level of self-noise. With any budget studio gear, everything comes down to price. They sound really good for the price, but have exceptionally low noise levels for any mic at any price point. Although they have low inherent noise, they are fairly sensitive and have more than enough gain to pick up a good signal. Context: I am using an xy acoustic guitar configuration in my stereo.
