Faced with some very strong negative reviews I bought one to test and am now buying two more because it works great for me and my cats. I think there are two things to consider when thinking about buying one. (1) Know your cats: How far do they stray? The carpet cannot catch dirt that is thrown farther than it covers. In that sense, my boys are pretty tactful, so the mat will do. (2) Know yourself: You must be OCD enough to pay attention to how you pick up your cleaning mat or you will make a mess. Either you are the person doing it reflexively or you are not. There are no judgments here. It's just that if you don't, you're likely to scatter whatever lands on the mat. Me and it worked fine for me. If not, maybe one of these three-sided soldered rugs suits you? Otherwise, two small things: I took a black carpet because it went better with my interior. not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I had to look closer to see that the black carpet matched my furniture better. . Another thing is that your cat could enjoy using it as a floor scratching post. One of my boys does, and such behavior does not harm the mother. I think it actually makes him shake his paws better on the mat. Regardless, I thought I'd mention it. The other boy does nothing but walks on it. But then again, he's the chewer of the family.
