Let me start by saying these knives are awesome! Extremely sharp, durable and affordable. I bought this because I was testing my woodworking skills and needed something I could use for fine detail work. I've searched a lot and decided to try these. I have used many Japanese hand tools in the past so I expected to get a quality tool at a good price. However, I did not expect how well processed these knives are. I've used them on hardwoods (ash, maple and walnut) and so far they cut smoothly and keep a very sharp blade. I also like the grip; The shape allows you to really tilt the tool to get into those hard-to-reach places. These knives are very high quality, durable handle with thick strong blades. Ideal for carpenters looking for quality at an affordable price. I was expecting the blades to dull after handling them roughly, but they are still razor sharp. You will not be disappointed!
