Review on 🌍 Ceptics 150W Travel Voltage Converter: 3 Outlets + 4 USB Ports for Global Charging - Frustration-Free Packaging by Melvin Belton

Heavy and underpowered.

When I bought this I knew I would regret it. I was right. Let's start with the basics: almost everything you use these days will work on 120 or 240 volts. Your cameras, computers, phones, etc. - almost any electronics you take with you to Europe will work on any voltage. The only things that *don't* work at 240V are things that require significantly more power - hair dryers, curling irons, etc. So a transformer like this that only puts out 150W is pretty much useless as a transformer*. *. I knew this from the start but bought it mainly as an extension cord - I needed to connect multiple devices while we were abroad. Unfortunately, it suffers from three main problems: 1) It's heavy. Like, really hard. Probably weighs 3 pounds. It's not something you want to take in your carry-on, and it takes up valuable weight in your checked baggage. Why does he weigh so much? Because it is a transformer that converts 240V to 120V, which as we have already established is not very useful. 2) He is loud. A by-product of voltage conversion is heat, which requires a fan to cool the Ceptics. Unfortunately, this is not a silent fan. This also seems to be especially important if you have devices plugged into USB ports (which makes sense). I hope you don't want to sleep while you charge your devices. 3) It's expensive. Plug adapters come in 5-packs for under $10. It's 40. Skip it and get it instead.
