Then I installed the plate using the four holes previously drilled, pressed firmly and cut directly over the 4 points with a tap each. This leaves tiny alignment marks on the steel plate. this. Before I drilled I re-centered all the holes. I wanted the glasses to stay in good condition so I could use them on other projects. I didn't notice any damage to the tips or threads in the case, but I didn't hit the record too hard, just enough to leave a tiny mark. I then used the first board as a drill guide and used the transfer punch to drill through the remaining boards.
