Tripp Lite was unable to provide any documentation to indicate that the Tripp Lite 1-Outlet Portable Surge Protector Power Strip will interrupt power to connected devices and/or other safe failure modes when the surge protector is depleted. On the other hand, the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 Power Strip with Outlet Surge Protection, Direct Plug, Metal, Lifetime Limited Warranty and $10,000 Insurance (ISOBLOK2-0) incorporates a failsafe thermal fuse and shuts off power to all outlets. when it can no longer perform surge suppression. I went back to Revain for the Tripp Lite 1 Outlet Portable Surge Protected Power Strip and bought the Tripp Lite Isobar 2 instead. I find the Tripp Lite Tripp Lite Isobar 2 to be worth the extra cost.
