Review on Latim's Professional Chef Knife 8 inch - Damascus Kitchen Knives Made of Japanese VG-10 Stainless Steel with Unique Pattern - Ultra Sharp Blade and Ergonomic Handle by Lisa Charlton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sufficient for most kitchens.

This is a good knife, but not great. They call it a damascus blade. It's really not real Damascus by definition. I have other knives made of real Damascus steel, far from it. Made in Japan, this blade is embossed with the image of Damascus. All real damask knives are unique. No two are the same. This is a decent knife but far from what is advertised. It's worth the money in terms of performance, it cuts well but falls short of a true Damascus blade. In the end, the performance is worth the money. But a real knife maker will immediately understand that this is not real damask. And as with all knives, there is no knife that stays sharp forever, not even a real damask knife. Your best bet is to learn how to keep a knife sharp...or have someone who knows how to sharpen it for you. It's a nice looking knife and works well for the price... so far.
