I tried using them in the winter this year as well; overall, they worked great, although it is best to avoid heavy braking. I avoided sliding on the ice as I drove out of the snowdrifts. Sharp braking causes you to feel as though they are sliding, but it does not cause you to go into a skid. So you can ride them all year long if you just maintain a normal distance and stay on the road. (Hong Kong region, when the temperature reached -25)
