I wall mounted mine, not hardwired. The base must be removed for installation. There are two tiny Phillips screws that attach the lamp to the base. They were about to come loose when I took them off. After fixing the base to the wall with the wall plugs provided, it was very difficult to reinstall the lamp as the tiny Phillips screws are on the SIDE of the base and not the front. They are almost flush with the wall so it took forever to find the right angle to screw them in. I strongly recommend a magnetic screwdriver; Otherwise, you will keep dropping them until you finally fix them. . Not a very solid build. But the lamp looks good and works as it should.
