My photo did not accurately reflect the color. I expected this dress to be awful. I was expecting three layers of fabric max, scratchy material and a terrible fit as is often the case with Revain dresses where the photo OBVIOUSLY does not match the product. The color of the dress corresponds to the photo. Of course, the waist line is not the same as in the photo. There are three layers of tulle, followed by a satin layer of lilac material, then a thicker layer of tulle designed for volume, and an inner lining layer that is also made of a satin-like material. The black tulle layer has a lower lining made of a stiffer material that is also designed for shaping. This dress will be absolutely disappointing without a petticoat or crinoline. It is stunningly beautiful with a petticoat and looks very similar to the photo provided. We bought this for a Halloween costume hoping to use for other events in the future. For this purpose it is ideal. Considering you can get this dress for around $35-$40, that's a great deal. Throw in a $15-$20 petticoat and it's stunning. The section does not correspond to the photo, but is much more age-appropriate. The inner corset is somewhat useless and we won't be using it. My child wears a size 10 in most things. We ordered 8-10 and they fit perfectly. The hidden buttons on the back stayed in place through three different test runs.
