Review on πŸ“· Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD 1:1 Macro Lens for Nikon Cameras (Black) by Jay Elmo

Very sharp and fast focusing

I found this lens to work very well with my Nikon D750. It focuses much faster than my Nikon lens, some of that may be due to the different lens type. It is a fixed focal length or fixed focal length lens, while the Nikon lens (28-300) is an extended range zoom. It's noticeably sharper than the Nikon 105mm macro lens I tried, but you'll have to look into the pixels to see the difference. But for a macro lens, that's an important difference. Incidentally, Dxomark also rates Tamron as sharper 26 P-Mpix for Tamron 21 P-Mpix for Nikor. I think it focused faster than the Nikon 105mm, but I couldn't exactly compare the two, so I'm less sure about that claim. Please don't think I'm swearing at Nikon, I'm not. It's just that Tamron seems to be the better choice in this case, it's cheaper and has a longer warranty (6 years) compared to Nikon Nikkor lenses that come with a standard 1+ year US limited warranty are equipped with a total of 4 years of extended US service. 5 year protection" not sure if it covers 4 years of extended service in the US. And it outperforms the Nikor lens in sharpness and maybe focusing speed. I highly recommend this lens
