Firstly I never put the pump in water or turned it on from the start because when I opened the box I heard the sound of gravel inside. The packaging appeared brand new despite being in an all white box. When I opened the box, the first thing I looked at was the instructions, which show how to take it apart for cleaning. When I removed the back cover, aquarium gravel fell out as if it had already been used in someone's aquarium. BINGO! I heard the rumble of gravel. The shaft inside looks like it was broken clean and finally the "regulator valve" they refer to is just a knob you turn on the front cover but when I removed the front cover I saw I realized that there was no way to connect the handle to anything and therefore controls nothing. It's just a trick. Luckily, Revain's support team was quick and easy. I am going to send them back and look for a completely different pump. Avoid this at all costs.
