I have used this type of filter thread in all my filters for the past few years and I am hooked, I will never switch to anything else. You get a ton of this (20ft roll!) and you can crop it to fit almost any type of filter. I use AquaClear 110s in 3 of my tanks so I cut it into strips and place the strip on top of the foam block in these filters, under the bio rings. I use the same strips in my Fluval Flex tank - I take 4 strips, roll them up a bit and put them in the first compartment of the flex filter compartment with the biomedia between the strips. It keeps all my tanks looking crystal clear, even Oscar's. One thing to always keep in mind is changing your floss. Depending on your bioburden and how dirty your water is, you'll often need to remove the old filament and replace it with a new one (I change it every 1-2 weeks). ). If you let it get too dirty, the threads will clog and your filters will overflow. It is very quick and easy to pull out the dirty element and insert a new one. This greatly simplifies tank maintenance. This 20ft roll is huge and will last a long time. It is much more profitable than small roles.
