Can't be too far from the device as it shuts off at 5ft!

I liked the style but the speaker doesn't recognize my device from about 5 feet away :-(I came back after trying it on my laptop and iPad. Poor signal reception to and of devices The price is ok, but you literally have to have the devices next to each other to be able to play smoothly.
