I cook every day and use my cutting board every time, so I wanted to treat myself to a really nice one when it came time for a new one. This maple board is so beautiful and really versatile. I didn't think I would actually use the side of the board with the long cut out on one side, but I actually found myself using both sides interchangeably. I like the all-round ridged side for slicing tomatoes and succulent foods, and the other side is handy for stuffing in pre-cut foods or leftovers like carrot tops, etc. It's a solid piece. It's made of wood so it's a bit heavy but I don't mind because I hope it will last a lifetime! I set up a recurring calendar reminder to smear it every 2 weeks so it lasts that long! :) Highly recommended and I will give it as a wedding gift from now on. Even when the couple doesn't cook, it makes their kitchen gourmet and perfect for cheese and crackers at the party. I didn't really think I could fall in love with a piece of wood, but here it is. It happened!
